BPTBL offers a wide variety of programs for boys and girls in the Brooklyn Park community. These include a Winter traveling basketball season, a Fall FREE Camp, a FREE 3rd and 4th Grade Spring League, Spring teams, and Summer camp opportunities.
BPTBL’s core program is the Winter season. Player registrations for the Winter season are taken from mid-August to mid-September. The season begins in mid-October and goes through the end of March. BPTBL sponsors teams in grades 4 through 8 for boys and girls. Teams play a schedule of approximately 25 - 35 games, and practice about twice per week. Teams play, on average, every other weekend. Traveling teams’ games are held on weekends, throughout the Metro area, and occasionally at out-state locations. Many of BPTBL’s Traveling teams rarely venture more than 20 miles from Brooklyn Park.
BPTBL also sponsors a Fall FREE Camp for entry-level players in grades 3 through 6. This introductory-level camp is held in mid- to late-September.
The FREE 3rd and 4th Grade Spring League is now in its eighth year. This "league" is designed to give 3rd and 4th grade players a small taste of what Traveling basketball is all about. The Spring League lets 3rd and 4th graders who have participated in the BPAA house league play a 3- or 4-game schedule using Traveling basketball rules.
Some players also participate on Spring basketball teams. BPTBL helps to provide facilities and equipment for players and coaches who wish to continue playing basketball into April and May. In addition, BPTBL provides opportunities for players to attend basketball camps in the Northwest suburbs.
As you can see, BPTBL offers a comprehensive, year-round basketball program to the community.

Success of the Program
BPTBL’s programs have been extremely successful. It is not uncommon for BPTBL to have several teams ranked among the top 5 statewide in the different grades. Past BPTBL athletes have gone on to referee, coach or play college and professional basketball. More importantly, participants in BPTBL programs are extremely satisfied with their experience. Over 95% of participants renew their participation each year. More importantly, BPTBL participants excel in the classroom. Approximately 80% of BPTBL participants maintain a "B" or higher GPA. This is a real tribute to the students, who must learn to juggle a sports schedule with their academic responsibilities. Players who attain a B average (2.66 GPA or higher) during the Winter season are awarded a Brooklyn Park Traveling Basketball Academic All-Star t-shirt.
