Volunteer Requirements

To ensure volunteer support for the many demands of the PCTBL program, a volunteer deposit of $300 will be collected from each Basketball participant at tryouts. Checks are not cashed in player does not make the team or if the parent/guardian fulfills 6 hour volunteer requirement.

We are a nonprofit organization. Despite player registration fees, we need to fundraise to break financially even each year. We hold several fundraisers throughout the year but the biggest is our boys and girls home tournaments. Parents and Guardians are required to volunteer a minimum of 6 hours on the weekend of their player's tournament.

We have a small board of parent volunteers but this organization is not possible without your support. Please understand our fees and volunteer requirements are much less than surrounding towns.

Policy:

  • $300 Volunteer Deposit.
  • A player will not be able to participate if the $300 deposit check is not turned in.  A $300 cash deposit is also acceptable and will be handled with a thorough receipt procedure.
  • Volunteer Deposits (checks) will be collected by the PCTBL Board at tryouts. The PCTBL Board shall be responsible to retain the checks. They will not be cashed unless a parent(s) does not complete the required volunteer hours. Please make sure to provide your check during tryout registration to assure the player will be permitted to participate in the season of play.
  • EACH registered player’s parent/guardian is responsible for providing 6 hours of volunteer time during designated events or forfeit the deposit. The primary (not only) volunteer event is to work the PCTBL Tournament (THIS IS REQUIRED FOR ALL TRAVELING PARENTS/GUARDIANS).
  • Failure to fulfill the required volunteer hours will result in forfeiture of the Volunteer Deposit. No partial refunds will be made.
  • If the required volunteer hours have been fulfilled the check will be destroyed. For those not completing the requirement, the check shall be deposited into the BPTBL account.
  • Compliance determination will be made following the PCTBL Pirate Tournament.
